About the role

Pet Drugs Online Role

IVC Evidensia is the UK and Europe’s leading veterinary care group, made up of over 900 practices and referral hospitals, united by a shared purpose of happier animals, happier owners.

At IVC Evidensia, we believe careers should be built without limits. Our people are supported to make more impact, access more career opportunities, and play an active role in their local and professional communities. Through investment in learning, innovation, and wellbeing, we create environments where our teams can grow in confidence, capability, and fulfilment—at every stage of their career.

Pet Drugs Online is one of the UK’s leading online pet pharmacies and retailers, helping pet owners access trusted medication, healthcare products, and everyday essentials quickly, safely, and conveniently. As part of the IVC Evidensia Group, Pet Drugs Online combines the agility of a growing ecommerce business with the strength and expertise of a leading veterinary care organisation.

Our teams play a vital role in making pet healthcare more accessible through innovation, operational excellence, and outstanding customer experience.

How You’ll Make a Difference

At Pet Drugs Online, pet owners judge us on whether their order turns up when we said it would. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you’ll own our carrier and third party logistics (3PL) strategy: the contracts, relationships, network and capacity behind every delivery. Our warehouse teams run the daily handovers. Your job is to make sure the providers behind them perform, cost what they should and have room for us to grow.

* Set our carrier and 3PL strategy, covering service levels, network options, capacity, contingency cover and what we’ll need as the business grows * Run sourcing, tenders, due diligence, negotiation, contracting and renewals alongside Finance, Legal, Customer Operations and Warehouse Operations * Agree contracts that are clear on service levels, pricing, surcharges, claims, liability, peak arrangements and data, and keep ownership of them once they’re signed * Build senior relationships with carriers and 3PL partners, and run weekly and monthly reviews covering service, cost, capacity, claims, damage, loss and the impact on customers * Own the scorecards; when a provider misses its contracted performance, find the root cause and get a corrective plan agreed and closed * Forecast parcel and freight capacity with our Sales and Operations Planning Manager, securing peak and growth capacity early and keeping contingency plans current and tested * Use shipment, service and cost data to improve carrier allocation, service selection, packaging rules and network design, without letting the customer experience slip * Turn delivery complaints and claims trends from Customer Operations into improvements, both with providers and in our own processes * Draw a clear line with Fulfilment: you own the relationship, contract, capacity and commercial performance, and they own sortation, staging, labelling, cut off and physical handover

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

We’re looking for a driven, capable professional who brings:

* Significant experience in carrier, transport, parcel, logistics procurement or 3PL management * Strong commercial and contract skills, including tenders, negotiation, cost modelling and supplier governance * The judgement to tell a provider failure from a warehouse failure, and the evidence to back it up * A style that is collaborative and exacting at once: you build good partnerships and you don’t accept the same failure twice * Ecommerce experience (desirable) * A commitment to supporting our purpose and values

What We Offer Our Team

* Healthcare Cash Plan

* Cycle to Work scheme

* Green Cars salary sacrifice scheme

* Voluntary benefits: choose from a range of benefits to suit you

* Discounted staff pet care

* Access to discounts/cashback with hundreds of participating retailers
