Mental Health Technician
Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City is hiring a Mental Health Technician (MHT) / Youth Care Worker to support children and adolescents receiving behavioral health care. In this hands-on role, you’ll help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while supporting patients’ daily routines, behavior goals, and life skills.
What you’ll do
* Provide attentive supervision and positive interaction with patients throughout your shift.
* Observe and assess behavior, complete assigned observation rounds, and document patient behavior accurately.
* Escort patients and help orient them to the unit.
* Model and teach appropriate life skills, and assist patients with activities of daily living.
* Help maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
* Use physical intervention or restraint when appropriate, following facility training and procedures. Training is provided.
What you’ll need
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* At least one year of related experience in an assisted living, residential, or hospital setting; psychiatric experience is preferred. One year of experience as a military Corpsman may also qualify.
* Must be at least 21 years old.
* Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, push, and pull as needed to perform the role, including during restraints.
* Education or work experience in psychology, human services, nursing, or social work is preferred.
Schedule
Full-time team members work a rotating schedule of four days on and two days off. Available shifts are:
* Day: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
* Evening: 7:00 p.m. - 7:00a.m.
