About the role

Psychiatrist — Part-Time Remote · Active Georgia Medical License Required

----------------------------------------

We're looking for a psychiatrist who wants to practice great psychiatric care — with kids, families, and young adults — without the demands of a full-time schedule.

Backpack Healthcare provides mental health care for children, teens, and young adults — all online, covered by most insurance. We're clinician-led and minority-owned, and our psychiatrists are a core part of an integrated care team, not a separate service line. You'll work alongside PMHNPs, therapists, and care coordinators who are all focused on the same patients.

If you want meaningful part-time psychiatric work with real clinical collaboration and real flexibility — this is worth your time.

----------------------------------------

What this role looks like

You'll carry a part-time caseload of 15–22 hours per week, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment via telehealth. Afternoon and evening availability is required. Weekend hours are available based on patient demand.

Day-to-day you'll:

* Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments across the lifespan * Diagnose and manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and more * Develop individualized treatment plans including medication management and therapy recommendations * Collaborate with therapists, PMHNPs, primary care providers, schools, and families * Provide crisis intervention and ongoing support as needed * Participate in team meetings and clinical consultations * Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with HIPAA and Georgia regulations * Stay current on developments in psychiatric care and evidence-based treatment

----------------------------------------

What we offer

* Competitive fee-for-service hourly compensation * Malpractice insurance coverage provided * CME reimbursement * Flexible scheduling with genuine work-life balance * A collaborative clinical environment where your input shapes care

----------------------------------------

What we're looking for

* MD or DO from an accredited medical school * Completed psychiatry residency * Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry * Active Georgia medical license and DEA license * Strong communication skills and genuine comfort working with diverse patient populations * Bilingual English/Spanish — strongly encouraged * Experience in outpatient, community mental health, or integrated care settings preferred * Familiarity with telepsychiatry platforms and EHR systems preferred

----------------------------------------

Who we are

We've served 12,000+ kids and families since 2020. 78% of families report their child is doing better after three months. We built Backpack because fragmented, inaccessible care wasn't working — for families or for the clinicians trying to help them.

When clinicians thrive, kids thrive. That's not a tagline. It's how we build.

----------------------------------------

Backpack Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity in age, background, identity, and experience — and we mean it.
