We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Facilities Assistant to help keep our buildings clean, safe, organized, and running smoothly. The Facilities Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and upkeep of our two locations while also assisting with general maintenance needs.

Facilities Assistant Responsibilities
* Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum offices, hallways, breakrooms, meeting rooms, and work areas. * Clean and disinfect surfaces, windows, doors, restrooms, and common areas. * Empty waste and recycling and ensure materials are disposed of appropriately. * Restock soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies. * Monitor cleaning supplies and help receive, stock, and distribute supplies between locations. * Assist with maintaining outdoor areas and picking up debris. * Move office furniture and equipment within and between buildings as needed. * Assist with general maintenance projects at both Merrick locations. * Communicate with outside vendors as needed. * Safely use cleaning products and equipment and follow applicable safety procedures.
Facilities Assistant Qualifications
* High school diploma. * 6–12 months of janitorial, custodial, or related experience preferred. * Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products. * Dependable, organized, and able to work independently. * Willingness to learn and assist with a variety of cleaning and maintenance needs. * Basic ability to use electronic devices, databases, and internet-based applications. * Reliable transportation to and from work. * Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. * Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and pushing or pulling equipment and materials. * Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening following a conditional job offer.
