About the role
Cassia, a nonprofit senior living organization, is hiring a Finance Manager to join our Home Office team! This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting and finance professional to contribute to a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving older adults. You'll support the financial operations of multiple Cassia communities while working alongside a collaborative team and helping ensure accurate financial reporting.
As our Finance Manager, you will oversee a variety of accounting and financial functions that support the day-to-day operations of Cassia. Your responsibilities will include managing financial transactions, preparing and reviewing financial reports, supporting audits and budgets, maintaining internal controls, and assisting with month-end and year-end accounting activities. To be successful, you must be detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Position Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible position
Wage Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually depending on experience
Location: 7171 Ohms Lane, Edina, MN, 55439. This position is onsite at the Home Office in Edina until training is done, Then it will be a hybrid role trading off between 2 days in the office one week, 3 days in the office the next week.
Finance Manager Responsibilities:
* Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and financial transactions. * Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports and supporting schedules. * Support month-end and year-end close processes. * Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning activities. * Reconcile accounts and research discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting. * Maintain financial records and supporting documentation in accordance with accounting standards and internal controls. * Collaborate with operational leaders and finance staff to support financial decision-making. * Support audits, tax reporting, and other financial compliance activities. * Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies. * Perform additional tasks as requested.
Finance Manager Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 2 years of relevant accounting experience; or Associate degree in Accounting with at least 4 years of relevant accounting experience. * Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls. * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to create and maintain financial spreadsheets, schedules, and analyses. * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise sound professional judgment. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
