About the role
Job Description
Responsible for contributing development efforts to one or more of several systems that are under the core responsibility of the Development Team. This position is focused on the design, development, deployment and support of enterprise and customer-facing mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
* Develops, designs and programs various software applications, services and integrations for application performance, scalability and compatibility. * Develops, designs and maintains native mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms. * Participates in the architecture, design, implementation and support of customer-facing mobile applications. * Monitors and tunes software applications and services. Performs maintenance on software, mobile applications and supporting platforms. * Performs troubleshooting in the form of problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up. * Provides tier II or tier III support; performs root cause analysis and develops checklists. * Anticipates and mitigates potential attacks to applications, software, services and supporting infrastructure to ensure the security of systems and data. * Interfaces with vendors regarding new product evaluation and troubleshooting issues. * Under general supervision, integrates and schematically depicts application architectures, software components, integrations, data flows and communication patterns. * Leads functional and empirical analysis related to design, development, planning and configuration of software applications and mobile platforms. * Collaborates with UX/UI designers, product owners and backend development teams to deliver secure, scalable and high-performing mobile solutions. * Develops and maintains integrations with enterprise APIs and cloud-based services. * Develops P&Ps and general standards. * Recommends procedures and controls for problem prevention. * Simulates or recreates problems to resolve operational deficiencies. * Under general supervision analyzes, makes recommendations, creates charts, diagrams and graphs to assist in analysis of problems or designs. * Develops and maintains problem databases. * Participates in the development of test strategies, devices and systems. * Develops and reviews technical documentation for approval by senior manager. * Participates in implementations and leads technical implementation and rollouts of new software applications, mobile solutions and supporting tools. * Coordinates installations and implementations with user departments. * Participates in application publishing, release management and deployment activities for Apple App Store and Google Play Store platforms. * Monitors mobile application performance, crash reporting and usage analytics and recommends improvements. * Participates in mobile application security reviews and implements industry best practices for data protection and secure communications. * Participates in the development of automated testing, deployment and release processes for mobile applications. * Assists and participates in disaster recovery planning and testing. * Researches and identifies software and technology solutions to meet company needs. * Under general supervision prepares detailed functional specifications and coordinates RFP processes. * Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline and/or equivalent applied experience required. * 7+ years of professional software development experience required. * ITIL V4 Awareness Training preferred. * Proven ability to lead and mentor junior engineers in design, development and deployment activities. * Demonstrable skills and 5+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade mobile applications in complex systems environments. * 5+ years working with API design, documentation, maintenance, support and integration of REST and GraphQL services. * 5+ years of experience developing mobile applications using professional programming languages, frameworks and platforms including Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Java or JavaScript. * 5+ years of experience developing, maintaining and supporting applications on both iOS and Android platforms. * Experience with Apple Xcode, Android Studio and mobile application debugging, diagnostics and performance analysis tools. * Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis and design (OOP/OOA&D), design patterns and modern application architecture including MVC, MVVM and Clean Architecture principles. * Working knowledge of mobile networking, API integration, authentication and security protocols including OAuth, OpenID Connect, SSL/TLS, secure credential management and mobile application security best practices. * Experience integrating mobile applications with cloud-based and enterprise services. * Experience developing applications that consume REST and GraphQL APIs. * Experience in the full lifecycle design of software as well as commercial/open-source development processes and development tools. * Proven ability to produce technical documentation including software architecture diagrams, requirements documents and other design artifacts. * Experience with automated testing frameworks and mobile UI testing tools. * Experience with mobile application analytics, crash reporting and performance monitoring platforms. * Demonstrable experience successfully publishing, releasing and maintaining applications in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store ecosystems. * Working knowledge of Apple App Store Review Guidelines and Google Play Developer policies and requirements. * Experience managing application certificates, provisioning profiles, code signing, store submissions, TestFlight deployments, Google Play testing tracks, phased rollouts and production release management processes. * Experience resolving application review findings, store certification issues and deployment challenges. * Preferred experience with AWS and/or Azure environments and tools. * Preferred experience consuming and creating/maintaining Mulesoft end points. * Preferred knowledge of CI/CD and deployment pipelines including automated mobile build, test and release workflows. * Preferred experience implementing mobile application security controls including secure storage, biometric authentication and certificate pinning. * Preferred experience with Firebase, mobile analytics and customer engagement platforms. * Preferred experience with Sitecore Headless CMS, Experience Edge API and GraphQL-based content delivery architectures. * Preferred experience building and supporting customer-facing applications in high-availability, high-transaction environments. * Preferred real-time transaction processing experience. * Preferred experience utilizing AI-assisted development and diagnostic tools. * Must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses.
