Job Summary
Pittsburgh, PA | Sewickley
*6-month position*
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 9 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday; Guaranteed 40 hours/week
Hourly Rate: $28-35/hour
Children: 3-year old & Newborn
Pets: 1 dog and 1 cat

Requirements:
* Prior newborn experience * Up to date on all routinely recommended vaccinations, particularly Tdap (whooping cough), annual influenza, and MMR, with documented immunity to chickenpox. * Strongly encourage current COVID-19 vaccination
Responsibilities and Duties
WHO/WHAT: What happens when an improv coach falls in love with one of her performers? Apparently, a pretty wonderful family! Fast-forward a few years, and this fun-loving Sewickley couple is preparing to welcome baby number TWO! With a three-year-old boy already keeping them entertained, Mom and Dad know a thing or two about parenting—and despite their improv beginnings, they've discovered they're actually pretty big fans of schedules and routines! Now, with a baby girl arriving in November, they're hoping to find a warm, experienced newborn nanny to spend six sweet months loving on their newest little addition. This position is exclusively for their baby girl! Big brother has his own childcare arrangements, so you'll be able to devote your days entirely to one very loved little lady.
Your days will be beautifully centered around one very little person. Both parents work from home, and they're hoping to find an experienced nanny who will confidently take the lead with their baby girl while they focus on their workdays. Think sleepy snuggles, bottles, tummy time, silly songs, stroller walks, stacks of board books, and celebrating all those tiny milestones that somehow feel like the biggest accomplishments in the world. You'll help establish developmentally appropriate routines, follow baby's cues, encourage healthy sleep habits, and create a loving, engaging environment where she can grow and discover the world around her. And here's something we think you'll LOVE: this position is truly all about BABY! Aside from washing bottles, there are no household responsibilities. No laundry, no grocery runs, no dinner prep, and no household management. Big brother will have his own routine, so you'll be able to pour your energy into caring for their newest addition.
Mom and Dad appreciate structure and predictability, but they also understand that flexibility, patience, and a good sense of humor go a long way during the newborn stage. They're hoping to find someone who enjoys working collaboratively with parents, communicates openly, and brings both experience and good judgment to the table. Since both parents work from home, they'll be nearby throughout the day, but they're looking for someone who feels comfortable settling into her own rhythm with their daughter. They want to build a relationship rooted in trust, mutual respect, and the shared goal of giving their baby the very best start. Someone who will genuinely love on their daughter, enjoy the everyday moments, and make returning to work feel a little easier for two parents who would much rather be soaking up every baby snuggle themselves!

You're warm, nurturing, patient, and wonderfully dependable, with meaningful newborn experience and a genuine love for the tiniest humans. You understand infant development, healthy sleep habits, feeding routines, and the importance of providing a safe, stimulating, and affectionate environment. You're the kind of person who happily gets down on the floor for tummy time, narrates an entire diaper change, sings the same song fifteen times, and celebrates a first giggle like it's the greatest thing you've ever witnessed. You recognize that caring for a baby isn't just about getting through the day—it's about helping that little person feel loved, secure, and encouraged as she discovers the world.
You're also someone whose word means something. You're punctual, reliable, trustworthy, proactive, and confident enough to take ownership of baby's day without needing constant direction. You appreciate a predictable schedule but aren't thrown off when a baby decides today's nap should last exactly 17 minutes. You communicate openly, welcome feedback, and understand that the best nanny-parent relationships are built on working together. You're comfortable with both parents working from home, respectful of their parenting preferences, and confident in bringing your own experience and thoughtful ideas to the table.
And perhaps most importantly, you're someone who genuinely treasures these early months. Because here's the thing about six months with a newborn: it doesn't sound like a very long time until you think about everything that happens in those six months. The tiny fingers that eventually reach for toys. The first smiles that turn into belly laughs. The sleepy little bundle who suddenly becomes a curious, wiggly baby with a personality all her own.
