About the Role
RCI Doors is seeking a reliable, experienced Commercial Door & Dock Service Technician to service customers throughout the area. This is a remote field position dispatched from home, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment.
We install, service, and repair a wide range of equipment — from overhead sectional and rolling steel doors to loading docks, hollow metal doors, glass storefronts, gates, and access control systems. No two days are the same!
We’ll provide you with a company service truck, hand and power tools, uniforms, and a supportive team that values safety, skill, and reliability.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Installing, servicing, and repairing commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment
* Completing fire door and automatic door inspections in accordance with safety and compliance standards
* Performing preventative maintenance to ensure proper door and equipment operation
* Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and access control systems
* Reading blueprints and following installation specifications
* Working in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings including warehouses, manufacturing facilities, retail spaces, and office buildings
* Using mobile dispatch software to manage job details, service calls, and customer updates
* Communicating clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers
* Maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicles in top condition
* Following all safety procedures on every job
Experience with storefront systems, hollow metal doors, or automatic pedestrian doors is a major plus!
What We’re Looking For
* 3–5 years of experience in the door, construction, or a related industry
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
* Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and at various job sites
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
* Dependable, customer-focused, and professional
* Basic computer/iPad skills and comfort using mobile apps
* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
* Must pass a background check, drug screen, and physical
