About the role
Job Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of dealership transactions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Post certain transactions and reconcile the monthly manufacturer factory part statements. * Reconcile extended warranty and insurance product reconciliations. * Reconcile finance reserve statements and post monthly adjustments * Reconcile monthly floorplan statements * Prepare the monthly sales professional unit count and sales achievement reports. * Research and post certain transactions on weekly bank statement as needed * Assist Dealership Controller with end of month closeout entries. * Backup certain accounting clerk desks as needed. * Assist the Dealership Controller in training accounting clerks and overseeing certain schedules designated by the Dealership Controller. * Serves as supervisor to the accounting staff in absence of the Dealership Controller and/or Office Manager. * Other duties that may be assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Solid understanding of principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping. * Superb time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and excellent detail orientation. * Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information. * Strong mathematical, analytical and communication skills
Education and Experience:
* 1 to 3 years of experience working in accounting required * Prior automotive dealership accounting experience preferred but not required * Intermediate understanding of Microsoft office, specifically Excel
Physical Requirements:
* May lift objects that weigh as much as 15 lbs. * Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.

Compensation: $55,000 to 60,000 DOE
