Business Development Manager - Power & Renewables   Are you the type of person who sees opportunities before anyone else does?   Do you enjoy opening doors, building influential relationships, and shaping major project wins long before they reach the tender stage?   Kirby Group Engineering is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to help grow our Power & Renewables Business Unit across Europe. This is not a role for someone who waits for opportunities to arrive. It's for someone who understands markets, tracks investment trends, builds networks that matter, and knows how to position a business to win.   You'll become a key part of our growth strategy, identifying future projects, engaging with customers and stakeholders, and ensuring Kirby is front and centre when major engineering and construction opportunities emerge.   The Opportunity As Business Development Manager, you'll combine market intelligence, customer engagement and strategic thinking to create and convert opportunities across the Power & Renewables sector.   You'll identify upcoming projects and framework opportunities, develop relationships with key decision-makers, and work closely with operational, estimating and pre-construction teams to position Kirby for success.   This is a highly visible role where your ability to influence, connect people and understand complex project environments will directly contribute to business growth.   What You'll Be Doing • Monitoring market activity, sector investment trends and future spending plans across Europe to identify growth opportunities • Identifying and qualifying project opportunities and managing them through the sales pipeline to tender stage • Building strong relationships with end clients, developers, contractors, consultants, design partners and specialist vendors • Mapping key decision-makers, influencers and stakeholders across target accounts and projects • Developing and maintaining a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned with revenue targets • Generating new leads through customer meetings, networking, industry events, referrals and proactive business development activity • Working closely with Business Unit leadership, pre-construction teams and bid specialists to support winning strategies • Gathering and communicating market intelligence, customer requirements, competitor activity and project insights • Creating compelling value propositions that clearly communicate Kirby's capabilities and differentiators • Identifying opportunities for Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), negotiated work and expanded project scopes • Supporting bid teams throughout the tender process and, where required, taking a leadership role through to project award • Managing customer feedback, debrief meetings and reference activities • Maintaining accurate pipeline forecasting and activity reporting through CRM systems • Collaborating with marketing teams to ensure high-quality sales collateral and market positioning materials are available • Acting as a trusted ambassador for Kirby Group Engineering across industry events, customer engagements and sector forums   What We're Looking For • Proven business development experience within engineering, construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy, power, renewable energy or related sectors • Strong understanding of project-based sales environments and long-cycle opportunity management • Experience building relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-makers • Commercial awareness with the ability to understand customer challenges and develop tailored solutions • Strong networking, communication and presentation skills • Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting activity and CRM systems • A proactive mindset with the confidence to identify opportunities and pursue them independently • Ability to work effectively across technical, commercial and operational teams • Knowledge of European energy, power or renewable markets would be advantageous   Why Kirby Group Engineering? Kirby Group Engineering is an international multi-disciplinary engineering services contractor delivering complex projects across Data Centres, Life Sciences, Industrial, Power and Renewables sectors.   Our reputation has been built by delivering certainty for our clients, investing in our people and consistently raising the standard of engineering excellence. As the energy transition accelerates and renewable infrastructure investment continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business at the forefront of delivering critical projects across Europe.   You'll work alongside industry-leading professionals, gain exposure to major projects, influence business strategy and play a key role in shaping the future growth of our Power & Renewables Business Unit.   Ready to help build tomorrow's energy infrastructure while driving the next phase of growth for Kirby Group Engineering? We'd love to hear from you.
