Job Description
American Iron & Metal (AIM) is looking for a Dispatcher to join our logistics team. In this role, you'll work closely with drivers, customers, scale operators, and yard personnel to keep material moving safely and efficiently. This is a fast-paced position that requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to adjust quickly when priorities change.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
* Scheduling and dispatching drivers to meet customer and operational needs.
* Handling customer service calls and coordinate pickups and deliveries.
* Communicating daily with drivers, scale operators, and yard teams.
* Monitoring routes, schedules, and driver hours to ensure DOT compliance.
* Tracking incoming and outgoing loads and maintain accurate records.
* Providing drivers with job information, site details, and material instructions.
* Helping resolve scheduling issues, service concerns, and other day-to-day operational challenges.
Qualifications
To Join Our Team:
* You have 2+ years of dispatching experience in transportation, logistics, recycling, waste, or a related industry. * You have knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements. * You have experience working with roll-off, end dump, or other heavy truck operations (preferred). * You have strong communication skills and can effectively coordinate with drivers, customers, and operations teams. * You are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. * You are a proactive problem-solver with a strong commitment to safety and customer service
