About the role

Position Summary:  The Kenjya-Trusant Group is looking for a Test Engineer Level 2 to alleviate the engineering surge associated with the ingestion, staging, validation, and transition to sustainment of multiple next-generation Cross Domain Solution (CDS) guard farm components and data diode architectures. The selected candidate will be an integral part of the pre-deployment laboratory lifecycle and ensure all system configurations meet strict security authorization baselines through stringent testing procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

* Comprehensive Test Execution: Build, document, and execute structured test procedures across the following six methodologies: * Unit Tests: Validate individual inspection filters, custom code modules, and regex patterns at the component level before laboratory deployment. * Integration Tests: Verify seamless software-to-hardware interfaces, network infrastructure routing, and boundary service pathways. * Functional Tests: Confirm that the cross-domain system accurately processes, permits, or quarantines specific front-door work requests and data types. * Regression or End-to-End (E2E) Tests: Validate that new guard configurations do not degrade existing configurations or disrupt the lifecycle of active data flows. * Acceptance Testing: Coordinate closely with customer stakeholders to ensure the final delivery meets all mission-specific and baseline operational criteria. * Performance Testing: Stress-test system capabilities to ensure high-volume network traffic processing without causing degradation or latency. * Automation Staging & Scripting: Design, build, and maintain standard test instrumentation, processes, templates, and automated scripts tailored to validate distinct system guard types. * Linear Lifecycle Testing: Execute the complete, contractually mandated validation pipeline within government laboratory spaces: Component Validation, Software Integration & Test, Integration & Test, and DT&E I & II. * Configuration Management Alignment: Place all custom automated test solutions, scripts, and software toolsets under rigid configuration management in strict accordance with NSA/CSS Policy Manual 1-12. * Test Documentation Delivery: Author detailed Test Plans and Test Procedures (including granular functional use cases) to validate integrated CDS capabilities directly against customer requirement tickets. * Security Assessment Support: Coordinate directly with the project ISSO footprint to perform system risk analysis, assist with System Security Plan (SSP) generation, and manage security testing metrics to streamline the Authority to Operate (ATO) pipeline.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

* Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.     * High School diploma and nine (9) years of TE experience OR Five (5) years with Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.  * Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/ Poly. * Minimum of 3–5 years of specialized experience testing IT boundaries, firewall policies, or Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) within a Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) framework. * Proven proficiency in writing automated test scripts (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to simulate high-volume network traffic and evaluate packet inspection engines. * Strong understanding of data routing protocols, physical layer triage, and data flow inspection filters. * Familiarity with the NSA/CSS Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NCDSMO Raise the Bar (RTB) Baseline Requirements.
