About the role

WELCOME TO OLX   We're building marketplace sustainable ecosystems that millions of people depend on every month – to buy and sell cars, find homes, land jobs, and trade secondhand goods. It's commerce that matters: safe, smart, and environmentally responsible.   We do this with courage to innovate, commitment to outcomes, collaboration across 50+ nationalities and 7 markets, and a customer-led approach that puts real people first. Add a desire to win – and you get a culture that's ambitious, fast-moving, and built on trust.   Our brands – including AutoTrader, OLX, Otomoto Property24, and more – are loved by millions. And we're backed by Prosus, one of the world's largest tech investors.   Join OLX and see how far you can go.

Join one of our Core Tech teams: Developer Experience, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Observability or Engineering Ops as a Junior Site Reliability Engineer!

As part of this platform group, you will support the development and maintenance of the core infrastructure and engineering practices that enable our products and services to thrive. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers, deepen your knowledge of cloud environments, distributed systems, and automation, and contribute to building reliable and scalable platforms.   You will be guided as you develop your technical expertise in system scalability, observability, automation, and reliability, while learning how to deliver incremental value, manage dependencies, and navigate ambiguity. If you're passionate about growing your career in Site Reliability Engineering and making an impact, we’d love to hear from you!

What you will be doing:

Support foundational tasks that ensure scalability, availability, and efficiency of our cloud and distributed systems. Collaborate with Senior SREs in diagnosing, resolving, and proactively preventing production incidents. Automate simple operational tasks and manage configurations using scripting and Infrastructure as Code tools. Assist in monitoring and maintaining service health by working with observability platforms and dashboards. Participate in incremental delivery of tasks, including estimating complexity, managing dependencies, and handling ambiguous requirements with guidance. Take part in an on-call rotation to develop incident management skills, focusing on learning and contributing to blameless postmortems. Engage in continuous learning, building a growth mindset, and progressively taking more ownership of your tasks and impact.

Who we are looking for:

* A motivated learner with a growth mindset, eager to develop their SRE skills and contribute to building reliable, scalable systems. * Someone with foundational experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Python or Go) and a desire to grow in automation and scripting. * A person with a basic understanding of cloud environments (preferably AWS) and distributed systems concepts. * Someone familiar with containers and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes), with this being a plus. * A candidate with an interest in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions). * Someone with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, focused on learning and applying best practices. * A team player with the ability to manage tasks reliably, communicate effectively, and maintain clear documentation. * An individual enthusiastic about reliability engineering principles, including incident management, monitoring, and service level management.
