Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Material Engineer to support material inspection and quality verification for semiconductor and industrial construction projects. This role focuses on inspecting incoming materials, reviewing supporting documentation, and verifying compliance with approved specifications and project requirements.

The position involves hands-on inspection of electrical and piping materials, coordination with warehouse and construction teams, and follow-up on material discrepancies and nonconforming items.

Key Responsibilities:

* Inspect incoming electrical and piping materials to verify identification, quantity, dimensions, condition, and compliance with approved material submittals, purchase orders, and project specifications.

* Verify electrical materials and components, including cables, conduits, fittings, cable trays, and related accessories, against specified types, sizes, ratings, and labeling requirements.

* Inspect piping materials, including pipes, tubing, fittings, flanges, valves, and gaskets, for correct material grades, sizes, pressure ratings, markings, and physical condition.

* Review material test reports, certificates of compliance, manufacturer documentation, and other required quality records for completeness and consistency.

* Document inspection results and maintain accurate records, photographs, and material traceability information.

* Identify damaged, incorrect, undocumented, or nonconforming materials and coordinate segregation, corrective action, replacement, and reinspection as needed.

* Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, QA/QC, engineering, and field teams to resolve material discrepancies and support timely material release.

* Verify that material handling, storage, labeling, and preservation practices meet project and manufacturer requirements.

* Support material audits, inventory verification, and preparation of quality documentation for project handover.

* Follow site safety procedures and applicable quality requirements during inspections and daily activities.

Required Qualifications:

* Experience in material inspection, receiving inspection, quality control, or a related role within industrial construction, manufacturing, or engineering.

* Familiarity with electrical and/or piping materials, with the ability to verify material characteristics against project requirements.

* Ability to read and interpret material specifications, approved submittals, purchase orders, drawings, and manufacturer documentation.

* Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify, document, and communicate material discrepancies.

* Ability to maintain organized inspection records and coordinate effectively across multiple teams.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

* Ability to work in warehouse and active construction environments and comply with site safety and PPE requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, construction management, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

* Experience inspecting both electrical and piping materials.

* Experience supporting semiconductor facilities, cleanrooms, or other advanced manufacturing projects.

* Familiarity with material traceability, material test reports, certificates of compliance, and nonconformance reporting.

* Familiarity with relevant ASTM, ASME, UL, or NEMA standards as applicable to the materials being inspected.

* Experience with electronic inspection records, inventory systems, or document control platforms.
