About the role

About Us: Since 1990, Patriot Fire Protection, Inc. has been an industry leader in fire prevention systems. With offices across Washington state, we design, fabricate, install, and maintain cutting-edge fire protection solutions. Our mission: safeguarding lives and property through innovation and excellence.

Why You'll Love This Role: You know the difference between a good design and a code-compliant one that actually holds up in the field. Patriot is looking for a mid-level Fire Sprinkler System Designer who brings that standard to every project. From layouts and hydraulic calculations to permit packages and AHJ coordination, you'll be a key player on a fast-moving team protecting communities across the Pacific Northwest.

What You'll Do: * Design code-compliant fire sprinkler systems that align with project and company standards * Prepare layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, stock lists, permit/shop drawings, and submittal packages * Coordinate sprinkler design with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems * Apply NFPA standards and local jurisdictional requirements to support accurate, approvable designs * Support project execution by addressing RFIs, revisions, field issues, permitting, and documentation needs * Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, fabrication teams, customers, and design partners to keep projects on schedule and aligned with quality standards

What We're Looking For: * 4+ years of experience in fire sprinkler system design or fire protection drafting including working knowledge of sprinkler design principles, hydraulic calculations, and construction documentation * Familiarity with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA 13, 14, 20, and related fire protection requirements * 3+ years of exposure to reading construction or architectural drawings * 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Revit, and Navisworks * NICET Level II certification

Preference for: * Excellent communication skills: internally, externally, verbal, and written * Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for problem-solving * Eagerness to learn and grow within the fire protection industry * Commitment to safety and excellence in all aspects of work * Tech/Trade School, Community College, or University graduate * NICET Level III * Proficiency in MS Office and Google Docs * A drug test and background check will be conducted only after a conditional job offer is made. We evaluate criminal history based on its relevance to job duties.

Perks of Joining Our Team: * Collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth * Impactful work that directly contributes to public safety * Competitive salary and benefits package
