Job Summary
Sentry Force Security is seeking a dependable, professional, and alert Armed Roving Patrol Security Officer to provide mobile security patrols throughout Norfolk, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have strong observation skills, sound judgment, a professional demeanor, and an excellent driving record.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct armed mobile patrols of assigned properties, facilities, and designated areas.
* Operate a company vehicle safely while performing routine security patrols.
* Monitor properties for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security concerns.
* Respond to incidents, alarms, and security-related calls as directed.
* Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in detailed reports.
* Enforce site rules and security procedures professionally.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, clients, and law enforcement when necessary.
* Maintain a visible security presence and help deter criminal activity.
* Follow all company policies, post orders, and applicable Virginia DCJS regulations.
Required Qualifications
* Valid Virginia DCJS Armed Security Officer registration.
* Excellent driving record and a valid driver's license.
* Demonstrated ability to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly.
* Previous armed security, patrol, or law enforcement experience preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to remain alert, exercise sound judgment, and respond appropriately in stressful situations.
* Reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct.
* Ability to meet applicable firearms qualification and employer screening requirements.
Additional Requirements
* Must successfully complete applicable background checks and any required pre-employment screenings.
* Must maintain all required security credentials and firearms qualifications.
* Must be able to perform the essential duties of a mobile patrol position.
