Hours: Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm | No Supervisory Responsibilities | No Travel | Pay commensurate with experience
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant is the main link between the patients and the provider. The Medical Assistant provides care and related services to patients in the clinic.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
* Completion of a Medical Office Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant program, or equivalent training preferred.
* Previous CMA/RMA experience preferred.
License/Certifications: Current BLS certification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Accurately obtain and record vital signs and pertinent observations of patient visit. 2. Prepare patients and be readily available to assist provider. 3. Follow physician orders to perform and/or assist phlebotomy, sterile procedures, diagnostic procedures and other procedures within the scope of practice. 4. Collect and process specimens 5. Facilitate patient flow. 6. Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas. 7. Communicate with patient by telephone and confer with provider. 8. Educate patient who have special needs. 9. Maintains Laboratory records and patient results 10. Monthly checks of medications for expiration dates. 11. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and telephone skills 12. Attends staff, educational, safety, and training meetings 13. Abide by policies and procedures of AMH. 14. Performs other duties as assigned. 15. Assist with all provider staff boxes ( not individual boxes) on days your assigned provider is not in the office. 16. Maintain inventory of all medical supplies including Labcorp - will be responsible for ordering all supplies on a weekly basis. 17. Will float in office as needed and be responsible for the nurse visit schedule as needed on days your assigned provider is not in the office.
Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.). All new employees working must be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment (unless the new hire has requested and received an exemption).
