About the role
Position Summary Sentry Force Security is seeking a professional and dependable Unarmed Security Officer to provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment at a healthcare facility. The Security Officer will monitor the facility, assist with maintaining order, and respond appropriately to safety concerns while interacting respectfully with patients, visitors, and staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Monitor the facility, entrances, exits, and surrounding areas. * Maintain a visible security presence throughout the property. * Observe and report unusual, suspicious, or disruptive activity. * Assist staff with maintaining a safe and orderly environment. * Respond appropriately to disturbances, emergencies, and safety concerns. * Monitor patient and visitor activity in accordance with facility procedures. * Verify authorized individuals entering restricted areas. * Conduct routine patrols of designated areas. * Complete accurate incident reports and daily activity logs. * Contact emergency services when necessary and follow established emergency procedures. * De-escalate tense situations using professional communication and sound judgment. * Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with patients and sensitive situations. * Work closely with facility staff and management to address security concerns. * Follow all company and facility policies, procedures, and post orders.
Qualifications
* Previous security, healthcare, customer service, or public-facing experience preferred. * Must be able to communicate professionally with a diverse population. * Strong observation and communication skills. * Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations. * Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. * Must meet all applicable Virginia security licensing requirements. * Ability to stand, walk, and remain attentive for extended periods.
