About the role

This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

FinCrime Analyst

A key part of building our business is ensuring we do it ethically and sustainably. As a financial institution, we need to know at all times what happens on our platform and whether this aligns with regulations and our risk appetite - and all of this in a scalable way.

We are looking for a FinCrime Analyst to join our FinCrime Operations Department based in Madrid. Do you want to be at the forefront of the fight against financial crime by conducting in-depth investigations and contributing to a passionate team? Then this is the role for you!

What you’ll do:

* Investigate alerts on suspicious transactions, reviewing and resolving daily screening alerts using internal and external systems and databases; * Conduct thorough research and risk assessments, preparing clear, evidence-based investigations and case narratives in a SAR-ready format to support timely and accurate suspicious activity reporting; * Conduct ad-hoc analyses and investigations into merchants’ compliance risk profiles; * Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency and alignment in AML, Screening and Fraud Investigations across all regions; * Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge and best practices, and assisting in onboarding new team members. * Propose ideas for improvement of our internal processes and workflows;

Who you are:

* You have 1-2 years of experience in AML/CFT compliance and/or AML/Sanctions/Fraud operations, with an emphasis on financial crime investigations. * You have knowledge of AML/CFT laws and regulations, and an intrinsic motivation to follow trends and developments in the AML/Sanctions/Fraud domain(s). * Experience in the financial sector is a must; though experience with payments or fintech is a plus. * You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, consistently using data to inform your decisions and adopting a solution-oriented approach in all aspects of work. * You are adaptable and able to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. * You have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. * You are naturally curious, you have a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to your work, and a strong drive to understand the “why” behind what you see. * You have a continuous improvement mindset - you proactively identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements to workflows or tools, and are motivated to help the team and processes evolve as we scale.

NB: Contributing to global, impactful and urgent work in AML/Screening/Fraud requires flexibility to rotate workload evenly over the team, sometimes including public holidays and weekends (never more than 5 working days in a week). When this kind of flexibility is required, you will be compensated additionally as per the applicable CBA (i.e. ‘overtime’).

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments

Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds and cultures is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, and we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.

Studies show that women and members of underrepresented communities apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Does this sound like you? If so, Adyen encourages you to reconsider and apply. We look forward to your application!

What’s next?

Ensuring a smooth and enjoyable candidate experience is critical for us. We aim to get back to you regarding your application within 5 business days. Our interview process tends to take about 4 weeks to complete, but may fluctuate depending on the role. Learn more about our hiring process here.
