RESPONSIBILITIES
* Organizing and setting up workspace before, during, and after each shift including stocking, cleaning, sanitizing, and preparatory work. * Working with the F&B leadership team to ensure the smooth operation of coffee sales. * Knowledgeable in all aspects of the coffee beverages being offered. * Train and encourage the growth of fellow team members. * Greeting and welcoming guests to the restaurant while maintaining a professional appearance. * Knowledgeable present menus and recommendations to guests. * Using the company’s sequence with guests to make sure they are having a quality beverage experience. * Clearing, cleaning, sanitizing and resetting the venue as needed. * Efficiently operating a computerized point of sale system, completing financial transactions accurately, making change, and running credit cards. * Effectively and proactively communicate any safety, guest, or employee concerns with the Supervisors and Management. * Contributing to the overall success of the venue, and welcoming guests as needed. * Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work and storage spaces. * Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.
REQUIREMENTS
* Must have or have the ability to obtain an Alaska Food Handler’s Card * Must have a valid alcohol safety card for the State of Alaska. * Minimum age of 21 years is required to serve alcohol in the State of Alaska. * Must be able to lift 50 lbs./23kg. * Must pass a pre-employment background check. * Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available. * Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES * Ability to organize and prioritize work, and maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals. * Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards. * Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
