About the role

Be Part of What’s Next

Bring bold ideas to life for two of the most influential brands in culture. As Temporary Supervising Producer for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen, you’ll shape ambitious, highly engaging video content from concept through distribution—experimenting with formats, visual storytelling, and talent-driven programming across platforms.

About Hearst Magazines (Why Us?)

We create media that moves minds, products and ideas. Our portfolio of 30 iconic brands — including Cosmopolitan, Delish, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Men’s Health and Road & Track — reaches nearly 130 million people each month. Our teams combine trusted journalism and cultural storytelling with technology, data and commerce to create experiences that inform, inspire and entertain audiences across generations and around the globe. And together, we are shaping what’s next.

Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)

* Shape the creative identity of each brand and series, including tone, casting, set design, lighting, graphics, creative prompts, music, and overall visual direction. * Develop original video franchises and concepts across on-site, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, linear/OTT, and other emerging platforms in partnership with editorial teams. * Lead brainstorming and development of innovative, shareable multi-platform formats that reflect the brands’ voices and resonate with their audiences. * Produce video content from conception through distribution, including pre-production planning, directing on set, overseeing post-production, and partnering with social teams on distribution strategy. * Write loglines, treatments, beat sheets, shot lists, scripts, and other creative materials for new and ongoing programming. * Direct celebrity and other talent on set for premium video, bringing a strong point of view while creating a collaborative production environment. * Manage post-production by providing thoughtful feedback on story, pacing, graphics, music, color, and overall creative execution, while implementing best practices and style guides. * Partner with editorial, marketing, production management, and social teams to develop programming, manage resources and budgets, book freelancers, maintain programming through Airtable, and oversee producers/APs as needed.

Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)

* 7–10 years of creative production experience, particularly in digital and celebrity-driven content. * Proven experience developing shows, writing treatments, and shooting pilots or other original video formats. * Experience working with high-profile talent on set and confidence directing talent in a fast-paced production environment. * A strong creative point of view and keen eye for visual storytelling, with the ability to translate ideas into compelling, internet-forward video. * Deep understanding of digital video platforms, audience behavior, production workflows, and multi-platform content strategy. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across editorial, creative, production, marketing, and social teams. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, meet tight deadlines, and make thoughtful decisions in a fast-moving environment. * Experience creating branded content and/or developing content for commercial partners is a plus. * Management and interpersonal skills that inspire collaboration, creativity, dedication, and excellence from others. * Experience managing production resources, budgets, freelancers, and post-production workflows. * This is a hybrid role based in New York, NY. Due to the nature of video production, the position may require more than four days per week in the office, as well as occasional weekend work.
