About the role

Build, test and support the electronics that connect a Formula 1 car:

The Opportunity

We're looking for an Electronics Technician to join our Electronics Workshop team in Banbury on an initial 9-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover.

You'll manufacture, test and support harnesses, sensors and electronic assemblies for our Formula 1 cars, contributing to factory race and test car builds and supporting race and test events as part of the trackside Electronics team when required.

What You'll Do

* Manufacture harnesses, sensors and electronic assemblies for use both on and off the car. * Support factory race and test car builds, ensuring electronic units, sensors and wiring harnesses are fitted correctly. * Calibrate and test sensors and electronic assemblies, both on-car and in the factory, following procedures provided by System Engineers. * Take ownership of in-house Cirris harness testing. * Identify and report faults or quality issues during component manufacture and car build. * Assist with the development and implementation of in-house test rigs and equipment. * Provide feedback to Electronics Design Engineering on chassis wiring and sensor design and installation. * Contribute to installation, design and manufacturing standards, operational processes and procedures. * Attend race and test events as part of the Electronics trackside team when required.

What We're Looking For

* GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent. * Previous experience working within a high-level motorsport environment. * Motorsport harness manufacturing, tooling and soldering experience. * Hands-on knowledge of Raychem System 25 and motorsport/aerospace connectors. * Strong technical knowledge of racing car electrical and electronic systems. * Experience using Microsoft Office and ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365. * Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-pressure environment, with the flexibility for extensive travel and irregular hours, including weekends and race days.

It Would Be an Advantage If You Also Have

* Further electronics education or training to HNC level. * Experience using Cirris test equipment. Training can be provided if required. * Experience with manual PCB loading and fine-pitch soldering. * Electrical wiring experience within enclosures, including panel wiring, test boxes or rigs. * Electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing experience, including the use of manual and power tools.

The Contract

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis for an initial 9 months to provide temporary maternity cover.

Subject to business need and the duration of the absence being covered, the contract may be extended up to a maximum total duration of 12 months.
