Job Description Responsible for using a truck to transport vehicles. Also required to perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip, and assist in loading and unloading.
Responsibilities:
* Transport vehicles over land to and from points of origin to destination sites. * Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. * Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts * Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. * Maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions. * Collect and verify delivery instructions. * Inspect tow truck for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. * Report defects, accidents or violations. * Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
* Proven work experience as a truck driver. * Ability to drive trucks and tow trailers. * Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. * No recent moving or driving violations in the last 3 years. * Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.). * Willing to submit to background/drug checks. * Physical dexterity. Good hand-eye-foot coordination. * Mechanical aptitude. * Awareness of, and ability to adhere to, safety standards at all times. * Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision * Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. * Must be available to work a five day work week.
License:
* CDL a plus
