About the role

Job Description

For Universal United Kingdom Resort (UUKR), the Site Planning Compliance Manager is a fully site-based role (5 days a week) embedded within the live construction environment, responsible for overseeing contractor activities and ensuring planning requirements are understood, implemented, and maintained across the Entertainment Resort Complex (ERC).

Working closely with contractors, site managers and delivery teams on a day-to-day basis, the Site Planning Compliance Manager acts as the key on-site interface for planning compliance. The role provides practical oversight of construction activities, undertaking regular site inspections, identifying potential or actual areas of non-compliance, and working directly with contractors to agree and implement corrective actions. A key focus is translating planning permissions, conditions and statutory obligations into clear, workable requirements that can be effectively applied within an active and complex construction program.

The role is responsible for monitoring contractor compliance with requirements including Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), habitat protection and enhancement measures, flood mitigation conditions, working hour restrictions, approved methodologies, and all applicable Special Development Order (SDO) conditions. The Site Planning Compliance Manager works proactively with contractors, consultants and internal teams to ensure these obligations are consistently embedded within site operations.

Alongside day-to-day contractor management and site oversight, the role supports the preparation, review and coordination of planning compliance documentation, bringing practical construction insight to contractor submissions and proposed methodologies. The Site Planning Compliance Manager also plays a key role in preparing for and facilitating site visits by governmental, planning and regulatory bodies, ensuring the site is ready and that compliance requirements can be clearly demonstrated.

Through regular engagement with contractors and site teams, the Site Planning Compliance Manager will foster a strong culture of planning compliance, ensuring obligations are clearly communicated, understood and consistently implemented throughout all phases of construction.
