Job Description
The Electrician II - Journeyman is responsible for performing all electrical tasks under general supervision. The role requires a Journeyman license, the ability to read blueprints, terminate cables, install and troubleshoot control wiring from drawings, and demonstrate experience beyond that of an electrical apprentice. Additionally, proficiency in rough-in work is required.
Essential Functions
* Install feeders and branch circuits. * Size wire and conduit. * Install and terminate switchgear, panelboards, lighting, and devices. * Install and terminate fire alarm systems equipment/devices. * Perform layout and preparation for installation. * Complete underground layout and rough-in. * Troubleshoot motors and controls. * Mentor and train apprentice electricians. * Fully comprehend electrical theory and the NFPA 70 National Electrical Code. * Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals. * May be required to fill in as needed in other positions at the direction of the manager or director.
Qualifications
Experience:
* 5 years’ experience electrical experience in health care, extended care, multifamily dwellings, or similar facilities, is required. * Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, including high-voltage systems * Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings * Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve electrical issues * Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate installation and repairs
Education:
* High School diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification:
* Valid state driver’s license. * Must hold Montgomery County Journeyman’s License.
