About the role
Build the data foundation of a growing Nordic platform
Want to work on the data and business logic at the centre of a growing software platform? Your Headway is looking for a Software Engineer on behalf of a client in the hospitality technology sector.
About the company
Our client builds cloud-based tools that help hospitality businesses run their day-to-day operations. Its platform brings together capabilities such as sales, booking, reporting and integrations, and the company is growing across several Nordic countries.
For an engineer who enjoys data, this is an opportunity to work on the core platform that other products depend on – not an isolated reporting layer. You will join an experienced team, work on systems used in continuous operation and help shape an AI-first way of building software. Your Headway handles the recruitment; the position is permanent and full-time, with direct employment by the client.
About the role
You will work hands-on with relational databases, integrations and data flows in a small, experienced team. Your engineering judgement will matter as the platform evolves, including when reviewing and verifying work produced with AI coding tools.
What you will do
* Develop business logic and data models in a large relational database. * Build and maintain integrations and work with configuration and data flows. * Improve performance, data quality and stability. * Work with Azure as the platform evolves. * Use AI coding agents to help implement solutions, and review, test and verify their output.
Who we are looking for
* At least three years of software engineering experience and a degree in computer science or a similar technical field. * Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases and data modelling, engineering or flows. * Daily use of AI coding tools and the ability to quality-check their output. * Solid mathematical and algorithmic understanding, curiosity and a sense of ownership. * Good English communication skills; Norwegian is a plus.
Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, Azure, .NET/C#, integrations or transaction-heavy systems is a plus.
What the role offers
* Ownership of systems at the heart of a growing Nordic platform. * An experienced engineering team using AI-assisted development. * Competitive salary and a stock option programme.
The position is based in Oslo. Much of the team is in Stavanger, and Oslo-based employees travel there at least once a month, with somewhat more travel during onboarding.
