About the role

Vets Now, part of inspiring vet care, are the UK’s leading provider of emergency pet care, providing a trusted service to more than 1700 veterinary practices, – from dedicated out-of-hours clinics and 24/7 pet emergency hospitals.

Make a Difference When It Matters Most If you’re someone who enjoys helping others and can bring empathy, professionalism and flexibility to a busy environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.Whether you’re reassuring a worried pet owner, answering an important question or making sure the right information reaches the right team, you’ll play an important part in supporting pet owners when they need us most.

How You’ll Make a Difference

At Vets Now, our clinics and contact centre rely on our software every day. Reporting to the Applications Manager, you’ll build and support our practice management system and the integrations that connect it to the rest of our tools. You’ll get real problems to solve, decide how to tackle them and own them through to the end. Part of your week will go on supporting users, and what you learn from them will shape what we build next.

* Build and support production software, turning what users need into small, well made improvements * Get to the real problem behind each request before committing to a fix, and push back when someone hands you a solution instead of a problem * Figure out whether an issue calls for training or a missing feature before deciding what to build * Write up requests from clinics and support teams as clear requirements, with the evidence behind them * Test changes to client journeys, weigh up the results, then decide whether to keep testing, make the change permanent or switch it off * Work with React on the front end, SQL Server for data and Azure services, connect systems through APIs, and use AI tools for discovery, building and analysis while keeping a critical eye on what they produce

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

We’re looking for a driven, capable professional who brings:

* Around three years’ commercial experience building and supporting production software * The ability to pick up new technologies quickly * A track record of shipping small, well made improvements that make life easier for users * Rigour with data: you reconcile the numbers before you trust the results * The ability to turn user needs into clear priorities, and to explain trade offs to colleagues with and without a technical background * A commitment to supporting our purpose and values

How We’ll Support You

At IVC Evidensia, we’re committed to supporting your development and wellbeing. When you join us, you’ll benefit from:

* A role with real business impact supporting teams across the organisation * Clear career pathways with progression opportunities within Central Functions and beyond * Ongoing learning and development supported by tailored programmes and resources * A collaborative, values-led culture focused on care, innovation, and continuous improvement * Hybrid working, with around one office day a month in Edinburgh

What We Offer Our Team

* Healthcare Cash Plan * Cycle to Work scheme * Green Cars salary sacrifice scheme * Voluntary benefits: choose from a range of benefits to suit you * Discounted staff pet care * Access to discounts/cashback with hundreds of participating retailers
