Museum Curator
Location: U.S. Navy Seabee Museum, Port Hueneme, CA Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM Type: Full-Time, On-Site U.S. Citizenship: Required
Viakorp Corporation is seeking a Museum Curator to support artifact inventory, cataloging, photography, preservation, and digitization at the U.S. Navy Seabee Museum.
Responsibilities
* Inventory and catalog museum artifacts.
* Photograph and document artifacts.
* Clean, prepare, and repack artifacts for preservation.
* Update collection records and digital files.
* Assist with museum collection digitization.
* Follow museum collection management standards.
Qualifications
* Degree, education, or current studies in History, Museum Studies, Archival Management, or a related field.
* Experience with artifact cataloging, collections, archives, or curatorial work.
* Familiarity with collection management systems.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, and basic digital photography.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical museum collection work.
