About the role
Sportsman Boats is looking for a CNC operator responsible for the operation of the CNC machines to cut materials while meeting production goals and high-quality standards. Our schedule is Monday - Thursday 5:00 am - 3:45 pm. There may be opportunities for overtime based on production needs.
What you will do:
* Perform all assigned CNC operations meeting daily and weekly production goals while maintaining high-quality standards * Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management * Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures * Transport materials to different areas of the CNC shop * Perform inspection of machined products and document results * Complete and maintain paperwork for parts * Assist in other work areas in upholstery department as needed
Requirements:
* Minimum one year of experience as a CNC operator in a fast-paced manufacturing facility * Experience using small hand tools * Knowledgeable in the areas of material cutting, sewing, upholstery, and foam assembly * Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to follow schedules * Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision * Advanced verbal communication skills * Advanced time management and organizational skills * High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience:
* Experience working with wood, leather, fiberglass, and vinyl in the marine industry * Experience using the Eastman, Axyz, 3-Axis, or 5 Axis and Router systems
This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. This role routinely wears protective clothing and masks.
