ABOUT US:
The Sports Data & Odds Engineering organization is responsible for developing, delivering, and operating a broad portfolio of products that power Sportradar's global sports data and betting ecosystem - processing millions of real-time events every day for media companies, sports federations, betting operators, and consumer apps across 120 countries.
Working closely with rights holders, media organizations, and betting partners, our teams build and maintain highly scalable systems that support the collection, processing, analysis, and distribution of sports data and odds across more than 30 sports disciplines, including e-sports.
The development teams based in Warsaw contribute to multiple products and initiatives across these domains, building distributed systems that operate at global scale, process millions of events daily, and deliver mission-critical services that are available 24/7.
THE CHALLENGE:
This is a role for someone who has delivered real software and wants to keep raising their game. You will work on systems that process millions of live sports events every day - the kind of scale most engineers only read about. You will not be left to figure it out alone. You will be surrounded by experienced engineers who care about crafts, and you will have the space to grow fast.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain high-performance Java services for sports data and betting products running 24/7 at global scale * Work across the full stack of features - design, implementation, testing, and production - with support from the team around you * Contribute to cloud-native solutions on AWS, learning how distributed systems behave under real load * Collaborate on architecture and design discussions - your perspective is welcome from day one * Write clean, well-tested code and actively improve it through peer review and feedback * Develop deep domain expertise in one of the most technically demanding real-time environments in the industry * Work closely with senior engineers, embrace TDD practices, and grow through pair programming and collaborative problem-solving
ABOUT YOU:
You are a software engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, learning new technologies, and collaborating with others. You have already built and delivered production software and are ready to take ownership of features and services with support from your team.
Required:
* You have 2+ years of professional software development experience and have delivered production Java software * You write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and take pride in it * You understand object-oriented design principles and know when to apply them * You are comfortable working in an agile team and communicating clearly with engineers and stakeholders * You are genuinely curious - about the technology, the domain, and the people you work with * Experience with AWS, Kafka, Docker or Kubernetes is a bonus, but appetite to learn carries just as much weight here

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
Initial Screening - A brief conversation with our Talent Acquisition Partner to review your background, experience, and expectations.
Technical Task - A take-home coding assignment designed to reflect our daily work, completed at your convenience.
Technical Interview - An in-depth discussion on your submitted coding task, including a review of your thought process, live coding exercises, and a system design discussion tailored to the level of the role.
Cultural Fit Interview - A conversation with Senior Management to assess your ability to work in a matrix organization and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the business.
