Duties and Responsibilities: * Provides excellent customer service * Performs general administrative duties as requested by physicians and office managers * Processes prior authorizations and refill requests in the Electronic Medical Record system * Assists in connecting patients with various patient assistance programs offered * Maintains medication samples onsite and tracks dispensing * Establishes and maintains relationships with various pharmaceutical representatives * Takes incoming calls from pharmacies to provide refill authorizations, answer questions about medication interactions and clarify prescriptions * Takes incoming phone calls from patients and assists them with medication concerns or takes messages for the physician.
Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required * Knowledge of pharmaceutical principles and practices, including medical terminology and of insurance payors * Ability to get along with the public and make patients feel welcome and comfortable * Must be willing to travel to satellite offices if necessary * Must maintain appropriate Pharmaceutical license * Must have the ability to work as a team with coworkers and providers
