Lunar Outpost is dedicated to creating a permanent presence in space, while also driving positive impacts here on Earth. We are currently, seeking a talented, experienced RF Communications Engineer to contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment. As a Comms IPT lead you will manage all communications systems for the LTV vehicle including Direct to Earth, Relay to Earth, and all lunar surface comms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design state-of-the-art RF communication systems for satellites and rover systems
* Manage and integrate satellite and rover systems to meet rigorous requirements
* Develop and validate complex antenna/RF designs with trade studies, modeling, and simulation
* Build and test RF systems, including antenna/payload communications subsystem
* Create test plans, specifying hardware and software, while adhering to industry standards and regulations
* Support business development with customer solutions and engagement
Required Qualifications:
* Understanding of space system requirements and the ability to pull together complex systems to meet those requirements * Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
* Experience in the hands-on build and testing of RF systems, including using and building test racks
* Ability to define and conduct tests to validate antenna and RF designs against mission requirements
* Experience in creating detailed test plans, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet cost and regulatory standards
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering or a related field
* Excellent management skills and experience with management software
* Experience developing and managing vendor requirements and specifications
* Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines
* Excellent organization and time management skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Master’s degree in Engineering, with a focus on RF payloads or Antenna Theory
