About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment, and enjoys improving processes while maintaining accurate financial records.
Schedule: Mon-Thurs In-Office
This is NOT a fully remote position. Qualified candidate will be required to report to the office 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting
* Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. * Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records. * Record revenue recognition, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet activity. * Support accounting activities across multiple legal entities.
Financial Reporting
* Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close. * Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules. * Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Compliance & Internal Controls
* Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies. * Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors. * Support internal controls, accounting procedures, and regulatory filings.
Process Improvement
* Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency. * Document accounting procedures and participate in finance transformation initiatives. * Collaborate with Finance Operations to improve automation, reporting, and data accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Partner with Revenue Operations, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and business leaders to support accurate financial reporting and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Education
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required. * CPA designation preferred but not required.
Experience
* 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience. * Strong experience with accrual accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close. * Experience supporting external audits. * Professional services, engineering, consulting, or project accounting experience preferred.
Technical Skills
* Advanced Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and Power Query. * Experience with Bill.com, QuickBooks Desktop, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems. * Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, project accounting, and revenue recognition. * Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence/reporting tools is a plus.
