Job Description
For one of our clients in the Dutch energy sector, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to develop and maintain scalable data solutions supporting data-driven decision-making and the energy transition.
You will work with modern cloud and data technologies and collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects, Product Owners and business stakeholders.
Your responsibilities:
* Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms. * Develop ETL/ELT processes and data integrations. * Transform complex datasets into reliable and reusable data products. * Build and maintain cloud-based data solutions. * Ensure data quality, reliability, security and performance. * Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical data solutions. * Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects and other engineering teams. * Contribute to data-platform modernisation and cloud migration projects. * Implement automated testing and CI/CD practices. * Help establish and improve data-engineering standards and best practices.
Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role. * Experience within the Dutch energy, utilities, renewable-energy or infrastructure sector. * Strong knowledge of Python and SQL. * Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines. * Experience with Azure or another major cloud platform. * Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse or Snowflake. * Understanding of data modelling, data quality and data governance. * Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps environments. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent Dutch and English communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders. * Relevant cloud or data-engineering certifications are a plus, particularly Azure, Databricks or cloud-data-platform certifications.
