Job Purpose The Manufacturing Associate is responsible for executing the daily tasks assigned by the plant manager.
Essential Functions: Corrugated: * Feed Corrugated machine * Fold Inserts * Package product
Wood: * Cut wood to length on saw per work orders * Assemble skids and crates per work orders
General: * Move raw materials and finished product with hand trucks or forklift (see forklift note below) * Stage raw materials for assembly * Package finished goods for shipment * Stock completed items in the appropriate place * Complete and turn in paperwork including * Actual quantity * Time sheets * Clean up work area (corrugated/wood/General Shop)
Other Responsibilities * Forklift operation (once certified) * Cleanliness of work area * Assist other work areas as required to complete production requirements * Safety * Safe operation of all equipment * Safety of employees * Eye & hearing protection * Repairing and adjusting equipment
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * High school graduate (or equivalent). * Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in operation and maintenance of wood cutting and/or assembly equipment. * Basic mechanical aptitude. * Able to perform skilled work of moderate difficulty. A high degree of initiative and creativity is required due to the complex nature of the situations/conditions of the position. * Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision. * Ability to effectively solve problems, think clearly and positively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations. * Meets deadlines and fulfills commitments. * Exhibits enthusiasm and an ability to work cooperatively with others. * Ability to communicate well with co-workers and customers. * Exhibits care and strong attention to detail. * Current forklift certification or ability to become certified
