Job Description
Position Purpose:
Under general supervision of the Management, operates heavy and specialized motor equipment requiring special training and skill, and does related work as required.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
* Checks treatment plant operation at frequent intervals to determine that all equipment is operating properly. * Backwashes filters and adjusts controls when necessary. * Maintains a supply of chemicals in the chemical feeders and checks on proper feeding. * Reads meters, and maintains records on pumping, chemicals used, tank levels and flow rates. * Performs chemical tests at specified intervals and records results. * Ensures standards are met for compliance. * Monitors and records readings at weather station. * Cleans, adjusts and maintains treatment plant equipment. * Performs other related duties as assigned. * Ability to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
* High School Diploma/GED is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Familiarity with Laboratory processes, instruments, and chemical hygiene. * Good knowledge and skill of pumps, motors, and other pumping station equipment and skill in their operation. * Mechanical ability, accuracy, thoroughness, carefulness and good judgement and Ability to work alone, maintaining personal safety standards.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
* Rhode Island Class III Full Treatment License.
