About the role

QC Chemist – GC/HPLC (Personal Care Manufacturing)

Greater Milwaukee Area (North Shore), WI · 100% onsite

Schedule: Mid-shift or second shift (exact hours being finalized)

Pay: $25–40/hr depending on experience, plus shift differential and annual bonus eligibility

Type: Full-time, non-exempt (hourly)

About the role

This is a new role in the Quality Control lab, created because the business is growing. You'll be the GC and HPLC chemist on your shift: testing raw materials, bulk batches, and finished goods so product can be released on time. You'll keep the instruments running and help strengthen the lab's methods as the product line grows. It's a hands-on bench role for someone who wants to put down roots, own their instruments, and grow with a company that's investing in its lab.

What you'll do

* Test and release raw materials, bulk, and finished goods using GC and HPLC, plus routine wet chemistry such as pH, viscosity, and Karl Fischer * Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot GC and HPLC instruments, including minor repairs * Investigate out-of-specification results and document findings with QA * Help develop, modify, and validate test methods to meet FDA and GMP requirements * Keep complete, accurate, audit-ready records * Partner with production to keep product moving on schedule

What you bring

* Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related science * 2+ years of current, hands-on GC and HPLC testing in a manufacturing QC lab (GMP, FDA, or ISO environment) * Experience with routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting * Strong documentation habits and attention to detail * A track record of building depth in a role over time

Nice to have

* Personal care, cosmetics, wipes, OTC, or consumer products experience * Method validation experience * Agilent (OpenLab or ChemStation) or Waters (Empower) software experience

Why join

* A new role on a growing team, with real ownership of the lab's GC and HPLC work * Long-term growth as the company expands its capabilities * Shift differential and bonus eligibility * A people-first culture with accessible leadership

Work environment

This is a lab inside a manufacturing plant, with some exposure to fumes, noise, and moving machinery. The role involves lifting up to 25 lbs.
