The Lutheran Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN position on our dynamic team. This role includes hours between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. As a PTA, you will assist in implementing treatment plans developed by our physical therapists to support the needs of residents in our healthcare community. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Assist in the implementation of treatment plans and carry out routine functions * Document the progress of treatment and modify specific treatments in accordance with the patient’s status and within the scope of the treatment plan established by the physical therapist * Provide skilled assistance and instruction on ordered therapeutic components designed to meet established goals * Appropriately test or measure joint range-of-motion, manual muscle strength, vital signs, or other objective tests to determine effects of treatments * Transport patients to and from treatment areas, lifting and transferring them according to positioning requirements * Assist with discharge planning and recommendations to facilitate safe transition plans for beneficiaries when appropriate
License/Certification required: * Licensed to work as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Missouri * Experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
