About the role

The Domain Data Steward serves as the day-to-day steward for assigned USDI data domains (e.g., Client & Household, Account, Portfolio & Performance, Advisor, Alternative Products, or Reference Data). Working closely with Data Product Managers, Business Domain Owners, Data Engineering teams, and data consumers, this role ensures domain data is trusted, well-defined, properly governed, and fit for operational and analytical use.

The Domain Data Steward is responsible for monitoring data quality, maintaining domain metadata and lineage, supporting governance processes, investigating data issues, and partnering with stakeholders to improve confidence in enterprise data assets.

Responsibilities:

* Partner with Data Product Managers, business stakeholders, and data consumers to understand business requirements, operational challenges, and data consumption needs.

* Support Data Product Managers by translating business friction points and consumer feedback into prioritized backlog items and enhancement requests.

* Apply established data trust standards, validation rules, and business definitions to domain data assets.

* Respond to business consumer questions and build day-to-day confidence in certified data products.

* Support adoption of approved data assets by promoting consistent usage of business definitions and trusted data sources. * Conduct data profiling, validation, and investigation using SQL and data quality tools to detect anomalies, schema drift, data defects, and pipeline issues.

* Monitor domain data quality KPIs, issue trends, and exception reports; support remediation activities to improve data trust and usability.

* Triage domain data defects and partner with Data Engineering teams to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions. * Validate end-to-end data flows across operational platforms, cloud data warehouses, and analytical environments.

* Perform lineage validation and impact assessments for data changes, defects, and enhancements. * Maintain business glossary definitions, critical data elements, metadata, and lineage documentation for assigned domains.

* Ensure adherence to enterprise data governance policies, standards, and controls.

* Support data classification, data ownership documentation, and stewardship activities within the assigned domain.

* Participate in governance forums and working groups to represent domain-specific data quality and operational concerns. * Apply client data protection standards, entitlement models, and privacy controls as defined by governance, risk, and security teams.

* Support audit, regulatory, and compliance activities by maintaining complete, traceable, and accurate documentation.

* Assist with data issue remediation and evidence collection related to risk, compliance, and audit findings.

* Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Information Security teams to ensure domain data complies with applicable policies and regulatory requirements.

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or a related field. * 5–7 years of experience in data stewardship, data governance, data management, business analysis, or Personal Wealth Management operations.

* Hands-on SQL proficiency for data profiling, model validation, lineage tracing, and issue investigation.

* Working knowledge of at least one PWM domain such as client onboarding, household hierarchies, trust/fiduciary accounting, portfolio accounting, performance reporting, or advisor servicing.

* Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, Data Product Managers, and Data Engineering teams in an agile delivery environment.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
