Immediate Openings – 2nd SHIFT! SMS Staffing is hiring Chemical Operators in Kenosha, WI area!
Job Title: Chemical Operator Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI Pay Rate: $20.00/hr. - $24.00/hr. Temp to Hire Schedule: 2nd Shift | 4:00 pm – 12:30 am (Monday - Friday)
Position Summary The Chemical Operator is responsible for safely operating equipment used to blend, transfer, and package chemical products within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate processing of materials, maintains production documentation, and supports efficient and safe plant operations.
Key Chemical Operator Responsibilities * Operate pumps, tanks, and processing equipment to transfer, blend, and package chemical products. * Measure and mix chemical batches according to established formulas and production specifications. * Fill drums, totes, and containers and prepare products for storage or shipment. * Monitor equipment and production processes to ensure quality and operational efficiency. * Maintain accurate production records, batch logs, and inventory documentation. * Operate forklifts or material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished goods as needed. * Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines, including proper use of PPE. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Previous experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial operations preferred. * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures. * Basic computer and documentation skills. * Ability to work safely in an industrial environment, lift up to 50 lbs. and climb as needed.
Requirements: * Must be able to read and write English * Have basic math capabilities * Comfortable working around chemicals * Able to wear safety equipment (i.e.: respirator, gloves, acid suit, googles and steel-toed work boots) * May be required to work outdoors * Flexible with overtime
