Job Description
Role Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers while providing excellent customer service and representing Rexel professionally. The role requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction, efficient route planning, and ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately and safely.
Key Accountabilities:
* Deliver goods to customers safely, efficiently, and on time. * Ensure all deliveries are accurately checked and accompanied by the required documentation. * Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times. * Load and unload delivery vehicles in line with health and safety procedures. * Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly. * Plan routes effectively to maximise delivery efficiency. * Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and company driving policies. * Support with occasional warehouse duties when required. * Any other duties as reasonably required.
Qualifications
Essential Experience:
* Previous experience in a delivery driver role. * Experience dealing directly with customers. * A clean and valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle operated. * Knowledge of the local area and route planning is an advantage. * Experience within the electrical wholesale or distribution sector is beneficial but not essential.
Technical/Functional Skills:
* Excellent communication skills. * Strong organisational and time management skills. * Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively. * Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious. * Good attention to detail, particularly when checking deliveries and documentation. * Basic computer or handheld device literacy. * Ability to work as part of a wider branch team.
