About the role

Job Description

KPFF is seeking an experienced Structural BIM Modeler to join our New York City Structural team. In this role, you’ll work closely with structural engineers and BIM professionals to develop accurate, well-coordinated Revit models and construction documents for a variety of building projects.

You’ll be an important part of project delivery, taking ownership of BIM modeling, CAD, and documentation while coordinating closely with engineers and other project disciplines. We’re looking for someone who brings a strong Revit foundation, understands how structural projects move from design through documentation, and can work independently while staying closely connected to the broader project team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced BIM/CAD professional who wants to deepen their structural expertise, take on meaningful project responsibility, and continue growing within a collaborative engineering practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Develop and maintain structural BIM/CAD models and construction documents using Revit, taking ownership of accuracy, consistency, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle. * Collaborate closely with structural engineers, BIM/CAD leads, and project teams to translate engineering concepts and design information into coordinated models and drawings. * Coordinate with architects and other design disciplines, proactively identifying and helping resolve model conflicts and coordination issues. * Apply BIM/CAD standards and best practices while adapting to project-specific requirements and deliverables. * Support project documentation, including plans, sections, details, schedules, and other model-based deliverables. * Participate in model reviews and quality checks, identifying and resolving inconsistencies before deliverables are issued. * Manage BIM/CAD priorities across assigned project work, communicating effectively with engineers and project teams to keep deliverables moving. * Contribute to BIM/CAD workflows and team practices, sharing knowledge and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and coordination.

Qualifications

Qualifications

* Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional BIM experience. * 5+ years of professional BIM/CAD modeling experience, preferably supporting structural building projects. * Advanced proficiency with Revit and a strong understanding of BIM/CAD -based project documentation. * Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned modeling and documentation responsibilities. * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work. * Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with engineers and other project team members. * Ability to manage competing priorities and contribute across multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Experience

The following experience will help someone be successful in this role:

* Professional BIM/CAD experience supporting structural engineering and building design projects. * Strong, hands-on experience using Revit to develop structural models and construction documents. * Experience coordinating directly with structural engineers, architects, and other design disciplines. * Experience working on multiple projects and managing modeling and documentation priorities through different phases of design. * Experience with commercial, tenant improvement, adaptive reuse, renovation, or other complex building projects is especially helpful. * Familiarity with tools such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam is a plus. * Architectural or MEP BIM experience may also be considered when paired with strong Revit skills and experience working in multidisciplinary building design environments.
