About the role

The FaDSS (Family Development and Self-Sufficiency) Program assists FIP recipients and other low-income families with goals to reach economic independence and satisfaction in their lives.  Sieda provides FaDSS services in Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Mahaska, Van Buren and Wapello Counties and works closely with Promise Jobs to increase income and employability for participants. Under the supervision of the FaDSS Program Manager and the Economic Family Support Services Director, this position has the responsibility for the implementation and delivery of FaDSS services within the seven counties in Sieda’s service area. FaDSS is a voluntary home visitation program that focuses on the well-being of the whole family and is trauma-informed, evidence-based and client-centered. FaDSS emphasizes the strengths of families and builds upon those strengths, assisting families to set and attain goals, while recognizing that families seek to address their multiple needs at a pace and intensity that works for them.  FaDSS believes that families can become independent and thriving community members with support of the FaDSS program.

FaDSS Specialists are responsible for ongoing support of families, home visits, maintenance of files, documentation, goal setting, recruitment and all deadlines and requirements of the FaDSS Program. FaDSS Specialists collaborate with other providers, resources and community contacts for program referrals, continuity of care, and improvement of service provision.
