Full Stack Developer Resume Example (2026)
By FindAJobAI team Updated How we built this page
"Full stack" is easy to claim and hard to prove. The proof hiring managers look for is a feature you carried from database to interface and into production, with the stack named on both ends and a result someone used.
The example below is a full stack developer with six years across a media company and a B2B SaaS startup; each bullet shows a layer of the stack or a whole feature.

How to write a full stack developer resume
Five steps, in the order a recruiter reads the page. The format around them stays plain for every job: one column, standard headings, newest role first.
Header: name, target title and links
Use Full Stack Developer or Full Stack Engineer as the ad does, and link one live product or repository that shows both ends. If you lean to one side, keep full stack in the title only if your bullets back it up.
Summary: what you do and your best proof
Name the stack on both ends in one line (for example React, Node.js, PostgreSQL), then one feature you carried end to end and what it did for users or revenue.
Experience: newest first, a result in every bullet
Mix bullets that cross the whole stack with bullets that go deep on one layer, so neither side looks thin. Mention deployment too, because many full stack roles expect you to ship your own work.
Skills: grouped, in the ad's words
Split frontend, backend, data and infrastructure into separate lines. Recruiters search for stack combinations, so keep the pairs from the ad visible.
Education and certifications
A degree, bootcamp or self-taught path all work; list the credential and its year. A live side project with real users earns a Projects line, especially early on.
Skills to put on a full stack developer resume
Hard skills are the tools and methods of the job; soft skills are how you work with people. Each comes with one way to prove it, because a skill named only in a list counts for little. Add the ones you really have.
Hard skills
- TypeScript end to end
- Show types shared between frontend and backend, or a migration that caught contract bugs.
- React
- Name the screens or features you built and the people who use them daily.
- Node.js
- Mention the APIs or background jobs you wrote and the load they carry.
- PostgreSQL
- Describe a schema you designed or a query you sped up, with numbers.
- REST or GraphQL
- Show an API you designed for your own frontend and, if you have, for outside clients.
- ORMs
- Mention migrations you planned or N+1 queries you removed in Prisma, TypeORM or ActiveRecord.
- Authentication
- Name the method you implemented (sessions, OAuth, SSO) and which customers needed it.
- Testing across layers
- Pair unit tests with end-to-end tests and the regressions they caught.
- Deployment
- Say where you deploy (AWS, Vercel, Fly.io, Heroku) and how often you ship.
- CI/CD
- Mention pipeline speed-ups or preview environments you set up.
- Third-party APIs
- Name integrations such as Stripe or Twilio and what they let the product do.
- Performance on both ends
- Give one frontend and one backend speed-up, each with a number.
Soft skills
- End-to-end ownership
- Describe a feature you carried from idea to production and then supported.
- Product sense
- Show a scope cut you proposed that got value to users sooner.
- Talking to customers
- Mention customer or support conversations that shaped a feature you built.
- Learning speed
- Show a new language or framework you picked up to ship something.
- Collaboration
- Name the designer or PM you worked with and what you shipped together.
- Mentoring
- Count the developers you onboarded or reviewed, and how soon they shipped.

Full Stack Developer resume bullet examples: weak vs strong
The same work, written two ways. The strong version names the tool, the scope and a result; the numbers are examples, yours must be real.
Weak: Worked on both frontend and backend.
Strong: Built the team-invite feature end to end: a Postgres table, 4 Node.js endpoints and the React screens, used by 35% of accounts within a month.
Proves full stack with one feature traced through every layer.
Weak: Developed new features for the web app.
Strong: Shipped CSV import for customer lists in NestJS and React, with row-level error messages that cut related support tickets by 60%.
A specific feature, both stacks and a measurable effect.
Weak: Knowledge of databases and APIs.
Strong: Designed the GraphQL schema and Prisma models for the scheduling module, keeping the slowest query under 100 ms at 50,000 bookings a day.
Skills shown in use, with a performance bar.
Weak: Deployed applications to the cloud.
Strong: Moved the app from Heroku to AWS ECS with Terraform, cutting hosting costs by $2,400 a month with no downtime.
Infrastructure work with cost and risk outcomes.
Weak: Built user authentication.
Strong: Added SAML and OAuth single sign-on for enterprise customers, which unblocked 3 deals worth $180K in annual revenue.
Connects a technical feature to the revenue it enabled.

Full Stack Developer resume summary examples
Two or three lines on what you do and your strongest proof. Start from the one closest to your level and use your own facts.
Full stack developer with a computer science degree and 3 deployed projects in TypeScript, React and Node.js, including a volunteer-shift app used by a food bank's 250 volunteers. Comfortable across the stack, from SQL schemas to responsive UIs.
Full stack developer with 5 years of experience building Rails and React products for a marketplace startup. Shipped the seller dashboard and payouts flow end to end, now used by 9,000 sellers. Equally at home in database design and UI work.
Senior full stack engineer with 10 years of experience, leading a team of 5 on a B2B SaaS platform in TypeScript, Next.js and PostgreSQL. Owns decisions from data model to deployment, and halved feature lead time with a shared monorepo and preview environments.
Common full stack developer resume mistakes
Each one is easy to make and quick to fix before you apply.
Claiming full stack with one-sided bullets
If every bullet is UI work, a backend-minded reader won't believe the title. Balance the layers or choose the title that fits.
No feature carried end to end
The proof of full stack is one feature you built across database, API and interface. Make it the first bullet of your latest role.
Naming stacks you barely know
A short list of tools you know well beats MERN, MEAN, LAMP and Rails all at once.
Forgetting deployment
Hosting, CI and monitoring are part of the job on small teams. Leave them out and it looks like someone else ships your code.

ATS tips for a full stack developer resume
Applicant tracking systems turn your file into text that recruiters search, mostly for the skills and titles in the ad. They rarely reject a resume on their own; one that parses badly or misses the ad's words just doesn't come up.
- Name the stack on every role, not only in Skills: "React, Node.js, PostgreSQL" under each job helps a recruiter searching for that combination.
- Balance the bullets. If every bullet is UI work, a backend-heavy full stack ad won't read you as a match, and the reverse.
- Use the ad's name for the stack when it's yours: MERN, Rails and React, or TypeScript end to end.
- Put deployment and CI/CD experience in a bullet; many full stack ads expect you to ship your own code to production.
- Link one live product or repository where a reviewer can see both ends. A screenshot inside the file can't be parsed.
For the format itself, run the free ATS resume checklist.

Full Stack Developer resume FAQ
How do I show full stack experience on a resume?
Trace at least one feature through every layer in a single bullet: the data model, the API, the UI and how it shipped. Then name both the frontend and backend stack on each role.
Should I call myself full stack if I'm stronger on one side?
Use the ad's title if your work really spans both ends. If you've done almost no backend work, a frontend title is more honest and usually matches better.
Which technologies should a full stack developer list?
One frontend framework, one backend language and framework, one database, plus your cloud and CI tools, named as the ad names them. A focused stack you know well reads better than every framework you've touched.
How we built this page
The FindAJobAI team wrote the three example resumes, the bullets, the skills and the advice for full stack developer roles. The people, employers and numbers in the examples are invented; the structure, the tools and the way each bullet is built are the parts to copy.
The live skills section is based on 479 full stack developer job ads analysed, the newest we track, with the same deterministic skill matcher as our in-demand skills report: no AI model reads the postings. It was last computed on November 2, 2026 and refreshes daily.
